The Cranbury digital Camera Club Newsletter - September 2006 - first update

Thank you to all our CdCC members who came to Cranbury Day on Saturday, helped man the booth for us and also directed people into our show in the Gourgaud Gallery.  Congratulations to those of you that also managed to sell some images.

Our next meeting is this Wednesday, 13th September at 7:45pm at our new premises, The American Repertory Ballet at their Cranbury studio location, 29 North Main Street, Cranbury. Use the same parking lot as before and we are opposite the Town Hall. Look for the CdCC signs. (Check on the web site for directions)

At this meeting we have Alissa Cohen, a sales rep from Canon, coming to talk to us about Canon cameras and accessories as well as their latest new camera. If you are a Canon user this is the night to come and ask questions. We will also set aside some time for you to ask questions one on one after refreshments.

We will also spend some time during the later half of the evening discussing the external competitions that are available to us and how we plan to process the entries (not to be confused with the monthly CdCC competitions).

Our plans for our October trips are nearing completion and we will be giving out the details and starting the sign up sheets.

Remember that our competition this month, on September 27th, is “Barns, A landscape theme which includes a main element of one or more barns or outbuildings".  This is also the night to come a little early and collect your photo from the Gourgaud Gallery as we will take down the show that night.

For our meeting on October 11th we will be having a “Show & Tell” evening. Many people have suggested that, when we have competitions, we ask the makers of the winning images to tell us about their photos, how they were inspired, their ideas, and how they actually set the camera to get the photo. How the print is printed and manipulated in Photoshop or other editing program will be another aspect that we would like to hear about. So on October 11th, not just prize winners, everyone is asked to bring along a favorite print (just one each!) printed to at least 10 x 8 and matted to our competition standards. We will each have a few minutes to talk about our print while it is up on the lightbox. There will be a sign in sheet at the door and we will go in order of sign up.

We look forward to seeing you!
